Environmental Water Delivery
Location
Psyche Lagoon situated 7km from Red Cliffs stretches across the floodplain to psyche pump station. This lagoon (a former irrigation drainage disposal basin) and the surrounding vegetation have been severely affected by saline drainage water and shallow saline groundwater. Sulphur salts have oxidised and the water has become acidic.
Requirements
To deliver up to 11 OOMI of environmental water in stages.
Services Provided
- Site inspection with CMA personnel
- Detailed system design to the specific site
- Pump and associated equipment were installed along with a Mace Agriflow water meter and an Adcon telemetry system, giving real-time monitoring with data logging back to a hosted website
- Monitoring of pump and wetlands
Equipment Used
- 0″ end centrifugal pump driven through a marine gearbox by a Caterpillar common rail diesel engine, all enclosed in a sound attenuating cabinet.
